Fred to many, he was also known as Mac, Daddy, Pawpaw, and Pa Fred, and he will be sorely missed, no matter the moniker. Never one to sit still, he went on to be a substitute teacher for McDowell County Public Schools, where he made many friends in the special needs classes.
