i didnt want to make the movie but because i love clattenburg so much i did it. they said they wouldnt do it without me but i knew they would and they should and im glad they did. Mike Clattenburg saw it and thought it was a funny character, and I think he named him Bubbles. It was just a lot of Kids in the Hall, SCTV, Tom Green stuff. JP: [Mike Smith] totally developed that character.

LAURA MICHALCHYSHYN (Former Programmer, Showcase): I got this really random phone call, on like a Wednesday or a Thursday, and I picked it up and it was Mike. So when Mike and met, I was already a fan. There was a picture of the old lady who the glasses belonged to, too. We were signed to EMI and we toured Canada and the U.S., and that's basically what I did for a living. volpe said i was the only one with a problem but i learned later on that almost everyone had a problem with this. It was an incredible ensemble. MIKE CLATTENBURG: JP [John Paul Tremblay] and Robb [Wells] were my pals who owned a pizza joint called JR Capones in PEI. The old producers decided the show was basically done, and we sort of moved on. so say the big dirty made a billion dollars well wed be acting in the big dirty 2 for twice scale. Wed always put in a black and white film component to the pitches and then never shoot any black and white.
